Download programs ahead of time to make sure your video setup is good to go.
Do a test run: ensure audio, visual and internet connection are strong.
Turn off all mobile devices, including audible email reminders on your computer or phone.
Be aware of your surroundings
Schedule your interview for a time with minimal noise around you
Choose a background with minimal distractions (ie. bright lights, roommates, pets, clutter). Make sure the light source is in front of you, not behind.
Do not take this on the go or in your car!
Nail the first impression!
Be prompt, arrive a few minutes early to settle nerves and get set up!
Dress to impress (even if you may have slippers on, dress and present yourself as if it’s in person)
Make strong eye contact and don’t forget to smile!
Organize Prep Materials
Have your interview notes in front of you and in an organized fashion so you aren’t shuffling or directly reading off of them. *Notecards and notes in bullet form will prevent reading.
Have a notebook handy to take notes during the interview.
